- Place a small amount of gel on the probe face.
- Place the probe a third of the way inwards across the grouser bar, and on the top of grouser bar
- If the shoe has been re-barred/re-groused, the Ultrasonic Tool is no longer effective. This is because the signal is interrupted at the point at which the bar has been welded.
