Moving Dirt

The preferred method of moving dirt is to collect a full blade of dirt, then to slide dirt forward to required dump area. This is the most efficient way to move a load. This reduces the amount of effort the machine is required to apply to move the dirt along. This does require skillful use of the blade raising and lowering to ensure sliding dirt motion. Where the blade enters the earth too low, the resultant build of dirt rolls in-front of the blade, continuously building load. This requires more force by the machine along with increased wear, slippage of chain and fuel usage. The resultant rolling action of the dirt on the front of the blade causes extra wear of the blade material.
