Measurement of Sprocket Rim Thickness with DG and UT and Sprocket Drive Lugs with DG and UT
Sprocket Rim Thickness – Depth Gauge – Using the depth gauge placed across the rim, push the pin down in the centre as
shown in the image here. Measure the
depth.
Sprocket Rim Thickness – Ultrasonic
Measure the Sprocket Rim in
position 1 and 2 and use the lowest
reading
Sprocket Drive Lug – Ultrasonic
Measure the Drive Lug Height
through the rim of the Sprocket to
the tip of the Drive Lug. This can be
difficult to achieve.
Sprocket Drive Lug – Depth Gauge
Measure the Depth of the valley
between the Drive Lugs with a Depth
Gauge as per diagram A. Then
measure to the top of the Drive Lug
as in in diagram B. Subtract
Dimension B from A to get the height
of the Drive Lug.
